Yes, applicants must be incorporated as a 501(c)3 non-profit charitable organization. Federal law prohibits us from making donations to individuals, non-US charities, or for-profit organizations.
There is no deadline on applications as they are accepted and reviewed continually. Barney’s Friends fiscal year ends June 30th and grants are voted on throughout the year.
Barney’s Friends will send you a letter, or call you confirming receipt of your grant proposal. The Board of Directors meeting discusses proposals, and you will be informed about the status of your application in 60-90 days.
Barney’s Friends has an annual amount it is required to grant each fiscal year. That amount changes every year, and also depends on the number and type of projects we are supporting. There is not a minimum or maximum for which to apply. Barney’s Friends may elect to provide funding for only a portion of your project.
